About Volunteer Internship – Assistant Program Coordinator
The Nursing Careers and Pathways Program located in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a dedicated and committed volunteer intern to assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The intern should have a background in math, science, nursing, health care, and/or any STEM field and must have a demonstrated interest in non-profit work. Transportation to and from is required. There is also the opportunity for remote work.
The successful candidate will perform some of the following:
• Provide tutoring to middle and high school participants in math and science on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from September – June.
• Assist with grant applications and management of grant awards
• Assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the program
• Assist with data entry, organization, and storage management
• Assist with the coordination of activities with Program Directors, parents, and participants
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
• Great customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented and great organizational skills
• Basic understanding of technology and computers
• Experience with MS Office Professional, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher
• Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks and projects
• 5 - 10 hours/week and 6 - 9 months commitment preferred
• Ability to work remotely via the internet
