Youth Fishing Derby

About Youth Fishing Derby

The Youth Fishing Derby gives children (ages 4-15) the opportunity to participate in the sport of fishing on the refuge. Fishing will be taking place from 8-10 AM with registration beginning at 7:30 AM on May 9, 2015.
Volunteers are needed from 7 AM to Noon to help setup for and clean up from the event and ensuring that children have a safe and enjoyable experience. Tasks may include: directing visitors to fishing ponds, direct parking, monitor restrooms, assist at registration desk, assist at weigh station, assist children with baiting hooks, as well as unloading/loading and setting up tables, tents, and chairs.
Volunteers must be 18 years or age or older (or accompanied by an adult).
Volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Services Agreement when they arrive.
Volunteers will be given volunteer shirts to help the public recognize them as official event volunteers.
