About SEEK

The Summer Engineering & Entrepreneurship Kamp (SEEK) introduces students to the practical applications of science and math learned in school. Students design and implement projects that require creative thinking grounded in science and mathematics. Novi raises awareness of the importance of engineering and renewable energy sources for sustainable development. The goals of the camp are to develop leadership, team work, and civic engagement and to find out what the youth want for their communities.

This program is an unique opportunity for the kids to develop creativity, think outside the box, and learn while doing. Programs like this are rare in Africa because of schools’ traditional academic focus. We bring project-based learning to students living in the most disadvantaged communities because we believe that that is where it will have the most impact.

We need volunteers to help with:

Web-Only Volunteers

Volunteering via the internet is a great way to start getting involved with Novi. Our website is growing and becoming better every day, and perhaps that is your area of expertise. The bilingual nature of Novi requires many documents to be translated between English and French. Networking in different countries and cities is at the heart of the organization's work, and with today's technology, much of this can be done online.

On-Site Volunteers

Because Novi's projects are currently in and around Allada, Benin, On-Site Volunteers are expected to be in this area. Beninese nationals and Peace Corps Volunnteers in Benin make up the current body of On-Site volunteers, and they implement the projects of the organization. Novi aims to make the opportunity to be an On-Site volunteer available to individuals from many other countries. If this is your interest, please contact our volunteer coordinator [email protected]
