About Front Office Volunteer

Volunteers are needed to serve as Front Office Receptionists for the Multicultural Human Services Department of Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS). The Front Office Receptionist supports the Front Office Coordinator in day-to-day operations of the MHS office ensuring MHS and INOVA clients are properly greeted, signed in and directed to appropriate staff so they have a positive and efficient experience.

Duties:
•Greet all clients and visitors as they arrive and answer questions when able
•Ensure visitors sign in and direct them to appropriate department for assistance
•Enter data into Excel spreadsheet, prepare fee tickets for clients and send, receive and distribute faxes
•Answer phones including fielding questions and directing callers to appropriate extensions
•Assist with staff projects as needed.

Qualifications:
•Must be at least 18 years old
•Strong verbal communication skills geared towards a culturally diverse clientele
•Good people skills, sound judgment and patience
•Able to work in fast- paced environment
•Comfortable taking initiative and following direction
•Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel
•Successful completion of criminal background check
