About Dare to Be Wild Reader Volunteer

Make a difference in the reading lives of children and volunteer at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center (NAUC) Saturday Wild Readers Club! Read one-on-one with a young wild reader and talk about exciting new books. Climb into the world of reading to ignite your heart, soul, and mind. Endless adventures await!

Volunteer are needed for this class which will be part of our Saturday Morning Enrichment Program Summer Session which will take place every Saturday from May 20th- September 2nd, 2017.

Volunteers are needed for each one hour session from 8:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Volunteer candidates can elect to participate in Saturday session hours and weeks of their choosing.


Purpose
 Choose and read lots of books for pleasure and to learn
 Talk with other readers about books and read books together
 Keep a reading journal on the books I am reading and new books I want to read next
 Create a reading plan to set goals on how much I read, when I read, what I read, and places to learn about good books
 Share great reads with others through book commercials, Graffiti Walls, book reviews and readers’ theater



Application Process

Training Sessions provided on either 5/6 or 5/13 from 11:00-12:00 by MSMC faculty at NAUC. Sign up at NAUC or email Robert Pagliaro at [email protected].
