About Share the Joy and Power of Reading: One-on-One Literacy Tutoring
Come tutor with us! We serve children grades 1-12 in our individually tailored one-on-one literacy tutoring programs. Donate one hour per week, work with the same student every time, and have the time of your life. Our tutors say it is the best hour of their week! No experience is necessary - you do not have to be a teacher to support an aspiring reader. We provide all of the training and all the support you may need to help our students.
Application Process
Visit the volunteer page on our website at newhavenreads.org to complete the application form. Our Outreach Director will contact you to set up a meeting. Must be 15 years of age. A background check will be performed and we will provide all training and information.
