About Mother's Day Carnation Sale

It's that time of year, for the New Beginnings' Annual Mother's Day Carnation Sale!

New Beginnings has been selling Mother's Day carnations to Lakes Region communities for 24 years, with all proceeds benefiting survivors of domestic, sexual and stalking violence.

If you have a green thumb and enjoy arranging flowers, don't miss out on this opportunity!

Volunteers are needed to organize, cut, label and hand-wrap single carnations and bouquets with greenery and enclosure cards.

Volunteers are also needed for deliveries to local businesses and restaurants. Most deliveries will be made by Thursday, May 5th in the morning.

By participating in this fundraiser, you are supporting the free and confidential services that New Beginnings provides. These include: 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, court advocacy, 24-hour accompaniment to the hospital and police departments, 1-to-1 peer support, support groups for all ages, systems advocacy, emergency assistance and educational programming.

In addition to being one of New Beginnings' main fundraisers each year, this event is also a key "friend raiser". It helps increase the visibility of New Beginnings and the need for services. By honoring mothers, New Beginnings also honors the roots of the Anti-Violence Against Women movement: a grassroots effort of women helping women to live violence-free lives and promote safer communities.
