Native Arts and Cultures Foundation

Native Arts and Cultures Foundation

About Us

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) was incorporated in 2008 to fulfill a national mandate to recognize Native creativity, strengthen the Native arts field, and support cultural continuity for generations of Native artists and culture bearers. Research shows that nationally, only .2% of all arts and cultural funding in the United States reaches indigenous communities - and we want to change that, by supporting the creation and sharing of new works by emerging and seasoned Native artists, and strengthening the infrastructure that supports Native arts and cultures.

Our national non-profit organization is based out of the Portland/Vancouver metro area, and we fulfill our mission through community-based projects, individual artist grantmaking, and convenings. We are a publicly funded foundation, which means we must raise every dollar we distribute. So far, NACF has supported over 164 artists and arts organizations in 26 states.
