The Masks We Wear Mental Health Awareness Cocktail Fundraiser
Hosted by: NAMI-Wood River Valley
About The Masks We Wear Mental Health Awareness Cocktail Fundraiser
The theme of this year's event, "The Masks We Wear," was chosen in honor of the masks that people living with a mental health condition are forced to wear and hide behind every day in order to fit in amongst their peers, coworkers, and families. The COVID-19 pandemic has provided us with a unique time to shine a light on the need to conceal mental health conditions due to the negative stigma that continues to be associated with the diagnosis of a mental health condition. Having spent the past year physically wearing masks to help mitigate the spread of the virus, this topic of discussion is now more relevant than ever before, illustrating yet another reason we have chosen this theme.
We are seeking volunteers for our upcoming cocktail hour and fundraiser in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month this May. The event will take place on May, 22nd from 4:30-6:30 pm. With a vast array of volunteer opportunities, we hope you sign up to lend a hand and experience the magic of our organization!
