Museum specimen preparation
Hosted by: MSU Herbarium
About Museum specimen preparation

Join our team to help us prepare newly acquired plant and lichen specimens for deposition into our permanent collection. This involves attaching dried specimens and labels onto archival paper or inserting them into archival packets, entering the specimen data into our database, and filing them into our collection. Each volunteer might be assigned to only one or a few of those tasks and most tasks are appropriate for people with physical limitations. We expect volunteers to contribute at least three consecutive hours per week during the business day. Opportunities for deeper involvement in museum activities exist after volunteers have gained experience. We hope you take this opportunity to get involved in science and education!
