About Children Home
Mount Kenya Children Home is a newly established centre, situated on the eastern slopes of mount Kenya. Only three hours drive from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The area is known for its very rural life, fresh air, beautiful sceneries and landscape. Here we help children who have lost their parents mainly due to HIV/AIDS as well as children from very poor single-parent families.
We need volunteers to help with:
Volunteer in Kenya
mount kenya children home is looking for volunteers to assist in the tasks at the orphanage
when you volunteer with us you have a chance not only to travel and experience the African culture but
also give something back to the community and put a smile on a needy
child. You will have an opportunity to play different roles and learn
new things at the same time.We have different programs which includes :
Children education whereby we take care of their school fees, uniforms,
stationery etc orphanage programs which includes providing shelter for
the children, food, clothing, and medical expenses. Orphans sponsorship
programs this is through finding sponsors for the children. We also have
agricultural program which helps to feed the home.
In summary our costs are as follow:
1. US$110 - Volunteer Program costs per person per week which is used
for your food, Accommodation, as well as helping in the home.You will
also pay an adition of us$355 per person which will cover
2. $65- Transportation from the Airport to the City center
3. $25 - Hotel Accommodation (Bed & breakfast) - (if you arrive in Kenya
after 4:00pm)
4. $65- Transportation from Nairobi to the centre
5. $90 Transportation from the centre to Airport (departure)
