The First Day Project

About The First Day Project
Donate to the First Day Project! The First Day Project is a backpack, school supply and healthy snack drive to benefit young students and families in need. Donations from community members are being collected at the Keene Police Department (400 Marlboro Street, Keene) during regular business hours from April 1 – June 1, 2016.
Items being collected include: new backpacks, pencils, erasers, construction paper, solid color pocket folders, 8-pack crayons, colored pencils, markers, Elmer’s glue, small scissors, tissue packs, sanitizing wipes, and non-perishable healthy snacks such as granola bars, pretzels and dried fruits.
Backpacks will be stuffed with donated school supplies over the summer and given to each student for their first day of school in Fall 2016. All students deserve a strong start on their first day of school!
The First Day Project is sponsored by Monadnock United Way, in partnership with the Keene Police Department. MUW & KPD thank the local businesses and volunteers that are helping to get this new initiative off the ground!
