About Seeking Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator will seek and manage volunteers for all MIRA volunteer activities. Specifically the the Volunteer Coordinator will seek, find and (in some cases) train experienced volunteers to do, among other things, the following tasks: foreign language interpretation and translation, organize individuals for the MIRA Civic Engagement Day and annual Unity Conference, prepare mailings for the agency, enter data and manage the MIRA membership data base, organize fund raising activities, and write materials using word processing tools.

The Volunteer Coordinator should be well organized and must have excellent computer skills and have demonstrated experience with membership data bases, Microsoft Word processing, Excel, and online search tools such as Google and Bing. It is preferred that the Volunteer Coordinator have near fluency or fluency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in the Spanish language. It is desirable that the Volunteer Coordinator have some prior experience as a Volunteer Coordinator and trainer, and be able to work with minimal supervision. There will only be very basic training for the position. The Volunteer Coordinator must be able to work flexible hours and make a one year commitment to the agency.
