About Winterville Mounds Park and Museum - Volunteer Docent

This volunteer will provide visitors from other cultures with information that will enrich their visit to Winterville Mounds Park and Museum (WM).

Responsibilities:
Assist WM staff by serving as an interpreter
Assist WM staff by:
• greeting and signing in the group
• escorting the group to the area where the tour will begin
• conducting a very brief overview of the site
• explaining the WM guidelines to the group
• being available for questions until visitors leave

Qualifications:
Ability to interpret from English into foreign language requested
Ability to convey information in an interesting manner
Agreeable personality
Ability to relate well to people of all ages, backgrounds, and educational levels

Requirements:
Successfully complete training
Dependability

Time Commitment:
Twenty (20) hours of volunteer service per year at WM are required to remain on the active volunteer list
