About Winterville Mounds Park and Museum - Volunteer First-Person Interpreter
This volunteer will provide visitors with information that will enrich their visit to Winterville Mounds Park and Museum (WM) by restaging a historical event or portraying a person or a prototypical event/person important to the interpretation of this prehistoric Native American site
Responsibilities:
Research and conduct living history interpretation in period dress
Employ storytelling, demonstration techniques, and discussion
Encourage interaction with audience
Avoid breaking character
Qualifications:
Knowledge of subject matter and experience with living history
Ability to convey knowledge in an interesting manner
Agreeable personality
Ability to relate well to people of all ages, backgrounds, and educational levels
Requirements:
Successfully complete training
Dependability
Time Commitment:
Twenty (20) hours of volunteer service per year at WM are required to remain on the active volunteer list
