About Winterville Mounds Park and Museum - Volunteer Docent

This volunteer will conduct on-site and outreach (schools, clubs, special events) programs geared for targeted groups in order to further the mission of Winterville Mounds Park and Museum (WM).

Responsibilities:
Assist the WM staff with preparing and conducting outreach programs
Present the desired program at assigned lecture site, school, club, or event
Return to the WM office in a timely manner props or materials used in the presentation

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the subject being presented
Flexibility regarding presentations, situations, and surroundings
Ability to relate well to all ages, backgrounds, and educational levels

Requirements:
Able to successfully complete training and continuing education sessions provided by staff
Able to work well with WM staff to attain working knowledge of assigned program
Provide proof of valid driver’s license for off-site events
Provide proof of current personal automobile liability insurance coverage for off-site events

Time Commitment:
Twenty (20) hours of volunteer service per year at WM are required to remain on the active volunteer list
