About Conduct a Food Drive in Your Community

Food and Funds Drive

Donations to Mid-South Food Bank are down and the number of families in need is rising. We are seeing fewer donations from the food industry and less money to purchase food. Mississippi has the highest amount of food insecurity in the country. Mid-South Food Bank distributes food to 18 counties in North Mississippi. Help fight hunger by holding a food and funds drive in your community!

Have a food and funds drive at your church, in your neighborhood or at your business. To have a successful drive, click here for a brochure: http://midsouthfoodbank.org/assets/1869/food_drive_brochure_rev_1111.pdf. If you want to receive credit for volunteer hours worked during your drive contact the volunteer coordinator at 901.373.0400 or [email protected].

Most Needed Non-Perishable Food Items:
• Canned foods with meat protein: tuna, chicken, chunky-style soup, beef stew, chili with meat, chicken & dumplings, etc.
• Peanut butter
• Pork and beans
• Canned fruit: peaches, pears, applesauce, fruit cocktail, etc.
• Fruit juice
• Canned vegetables
• Dried beans and rice (1 or 2 pound bags only)

For every dollar donated to Mid-South Food Bank we can provide three nutritious meals to the community! To make an online donation click here: http://www.midsouthfoodbank.org.
