About Collect Food at the National Civil Rights Museum on MLK Day

Spend your day honoring Dr. King by giving back to the community on Monday, January 19, 2015, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, at the National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM). Volunteers will help collect canned goods and distribute $2 discount museum admission coupons for every two cans of food donated to the Food Bank. Volunteers will be responsible for keeping the lines straight so as to not create bottlenecks at the entrance to the museum area.

The shifts to choose from are:
7:00 am – 11:00 am
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
1:00 pm – until the last person in line has been served (approximately 6:30 pm)

• Volunteers must be able to serve the entire shift. If you cannot serve the entire shift do not volunteer.
• Individual volunteers or one member of a group of volunteers must attend a NCRM orientation to volunteer. The dates for orientation will be announced soon.

If you are interested in volunteering for Martin Luther King Day, contact Paula Rushing at [email protected] or 901.373.0400. A volunteer agreement with the guidelines will be sent to each volunteer or group coordinator. Every volunteer/group coordinator must sign the agreement and return to Paula Rushing by Friday, January 16.
