About Friendly Visitors

A hospice volunteer is someone who has a sincere desire to help someone in need. McLaren Hospice is looking for dedicated individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families that are being faced with advanced illnesses.

Services may include:
-Friendly Visits with patient and/or family
-Listening to patient reminisce about their past
-Reading to patient
-Respite support for caregiver by sitting with patient while family takes a break
-Meal Preparation/Light Housekeeping
-Assisting with running errands, letter writing

Patients are located through out the greater Lansing area including Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Mason, Williamston, Haslett, Dewitt, Grand Ledge, Portland and surrounding communities. We also have a new need for volunteers in the Owosso/Ovid area and Howell area. You can select which geographic area suits you best.

Application Process

There is an application, back ground check (with fingerprinting) and training program to complete prior to visiting patients.
