About Volunteers for National Collegiate Landscape Competition Event

Mississippi State University will be hosting the National Collegiate Landscape Competition Wednesday, March 16, 2016 - Saturday, March 19, 2016 and we need your help! This event is for landscape schools across the country to come together and compete, have a career fair, and fellowship. There will be about 60 schools with around 850 students along with industry professionals, faculty and visitors. Overall, we are expecting 1250 visitors on our beautiful campus.

We need volunteers on the following dates and times in 2-hour shifts:
Wednesday, March 16, 2016 • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday, March 17, 2016 • 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Friday, March 18, 2016 • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 5:30 - 11:00 PM

Volunteers will be helping with the following:
• Serving as Way Finders to answer visitors's questions and point them in the right direction of where they are trying to go (knowledge of campus layout or ability to read a campus map will be helpful)
• Handing out bottles of water to visitors
• Handing out maps to visitors
• Unloading materials
• Running errands for event sponsors as needed
• Delivering meals to event sponsors
• Giving rides to people in golf carts

We ask that volunteers commit to serving a minimum of a 2-hour shift. Depending on the volunteer role you serve in, you will possibly need to be able to be outside and on your feet for the entire 2-hour volunteer shift.
