About Wish Granter

Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware and Susquehanna Valley is looking for wish granters to inspire and help create moments of joy! The wish granter volunteer role is an opportunity to help us provide life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Wish granters assist our chapter in meeting with wish children and their families to help the children discover their one true wish. Throughout the wish process, volunteers also find creative ways to enhance the child’s experience and help keep the up the spirit and anticipation of a wish alive!

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Meet with the wish child and their family to learn more about the child’s wish
-Utilize online resources to sign up for wishes and obtain paperwork
-Be creative in making the wish process more fun and exciting for the wish child, including planning a wish celebration once the wish has been approved and scheduled
-Submit all necessary paperwork to the chapter in a timely manner
-Commit to participating on a minimum of 3 wishes a year (On average, each wish requires about 10 hours of volunteer work over the course of a 6-9 month period)

Those interested in this volunteer opportunity are encouraged to fill out an application and submit it to us for further consideration! The completion of a background check and training courses are required to become an active wish granter.
**Volunteers must be 21+ and must have access to reliable transportation in order to serve as a wish granter
