About Wish Granting Volunteer
What is Wish Granting? Bringing hope, strength, and joy to children with critical illnesses.
Once a child’s condition qualifies to receive a wish through Make-A-Wish, that child is paired with a wish-granting volunteer.
Wish Granters get to know the wish child and their family, ask the child what their wish is, work with our staff to do some behind-the-scenes planning, and ultimately, fulfill the child’s one true wish! The time commitment is about two hours per month, per wish that a volunteer picks up.
Application Process
Training is open to anyone interested in wish granting.
A MAW volunteer application and background check are not required to attend training but are requirements of becoming an active Wish Granter.
At this time, Wish Granter Training lasts approximately one hours and is now offered virtually! Mark your calendar for this upcoming training and spread the word.
*Volunteers must be 18+ to become an active Wish Granter.
