About "Hawaiian Luau" Prom 2016

The Madison High School Interact Club is excited to announce that on May 21, 2016, we will be hosting Prom 2016 ”Hawaiian Luau” for all life skills students within Lenawee County. The Madison High School Interact is a community service club that is sponsored by the Adrian Morning Rotary. In the past, the observation has been made that while at Special Olympics students mingle, form friendships, and truly bond with each other. Unfortunately, students are only provided with the opportunity to interact with each other at this single event. It is from this observation that the idea for a “Prom” was conceived. It is our hope that this dance will provide a context in which these students can further solidify the positive connections that were made during the Special Olympics and forge ahead in making new ones. This year’s event theme will be “Hawaiian Luau”. We would like to provide a formal atmosphere for students; therefore, formal attire is encouraged but not required. The event will be held at Madison School and will be chaperoned by volunteers from Madison Interact, Adrian Morning Rotary, Lenawee Youth Council, and willing life skills teachers. We sincerely hope this will be a special event for everyone. We want this to be an evening in which students feel good about themselves and can make lasting memories.
