About Greener Codorus Initiative

Volunteers Needed! The Greener Codorus Initiative is a program dedicated to keeping chemicals, like herbicides, away from the Codorus Creek while keeping the banks along the Creek "green" throughout downtown York. We have an agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers which allows us to trim and chop all of the vegetation along the creek. We do this work so the Army Corps of Engineers don't spray herbicides all around the creek, killing everything those chemicals touch. So, if you want to keep chemicals away from the creek, feed the wildlife like ducks and turtles, and keep downtown York along the Codorus more "GREEN" PLEASE JOIN US. First day out will be April 16th at 9am. Meet at Foundry Plaza/Codorus Boat Basin 228 W. Philadelphia St. York, PA 17401. Please wear long pants and bring your own water. All tools provided. We work from April - November 1st & 3rd Tues @ 9-11am and 2nd & 4th Thurs @ 5:30-7:30pm.
