About CarePack for Kids

In October of 2018, we were attending a prayer summit south of Abilene and Dr. Young, the superintendent for Abilene ISD came to share prayer concerns for the schools. One issue he shared was weekend food insecurity for kids in this area and the need for a better solution to take care of this rather large need. When we heard there was a food need for children, we simply responded that we want to help and would be interested more in this issue. Only a few weeks later Dr. Young arranged to take us and a few others to Amarillo to see a program that was doing some pretty incredible things for kids. That program is called Snack Pak 4 Kids, and we were so impressed with the program we decided to birth the same program here in the Abilene area.

By January of 2019 we were set up to serve the 1st school that badly needed help. With the collaborative help of many CarePack for Kids began, and by the end of 2019 the program was serving 10 school districts with about 1200 weekend CarePacks every week.

We follow the blueprint that Snack Pak 4 Kids shared with us and are a part of a buying co-op that helps to get the very best for deserving kids at incredibly low cost.

We are on pace to provide over 60,000 CarePacks during the 2022-2023 school year and are excited to see what God will do with this amazing blessing in years to come.
