About Become a Literacy Volunteer Tutor and Make a Difference

Volunteers attend tutor training (18 hours) then is matched with a student. The training prepares the volunteer to tutor and provides useful strategies to use to help the student to improve his/her reading skills. The tutor and student typically meet two hours per week. It is a very rewarding experience being able to give the gift of reading and to be part of the solution in helping to improve a person's life.

Application Process

Volunteers can visit our website (www.lvorc.org) to see when the next tutor training sessions will take place and to learn of other volunteer opportunities.
