About Law Students

Are you in law school and interested in getting hands on legal experience before you graduate? Do you also want to receive your 50 hours of pro bono service to fulfill the New York State Bar admission requirement? Then volunteer with us!

At LawNY, you will have the opportunity to interact with clients; conduct legal research; prepare motions, pleadings, and memos; observe court; and possibly represent clients in administrative or court proceedings. You will be exposed to a wide variety of areas of law including housing, mortgage foreclosure, disability, family, consumer, elder, re-entry, and public benefits, including unemployment and public assistance. You can participate in a variety of courts and administrative agency proceedings. You will also learn more about the collaboration between a civil legal aid/legal services organization and other local social services agencies.

Application Process

Please submit a cover letter and resume regarding your interest in volunteering with us via email to
Michaela Azemi ([email protected]).
