About Coach/Mentor

Each Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:30, volunteers serve as coaches and mentors to children ranging in age from 3-13. We thrive on the dedication of our volunteer staff who serve as coaches, working directly with our students in small groups. During each session, coaches guide students through physical exercise; academic activities such as creative writing and spelling bees; dance and music. Many of our coaches volunteer in areas of their expertise. For example, we have coaches with backgrounds in personal training, education and our music coach is a published songwriter. By sharing their passion, our volunteers are able to connect with our students and open a love for learning in areas otherwise unexplored.
