About Volunteer Firefighter

Lafayette Fire Company relies on the skills and passion of its volunteer members to learn how to provide life and property saving services to our area of service. You, the volunteer, take the oath, we provide you the training, equipment and the resources to risk a lot to save a lot. The initial training requirement to become a nationally certified firefighter requires physical fitness, a minimum of 220 hours of classroom training and a dedication to never stop learning and respond to calls when you are able. In particular, we are in a critical need for daytime volunteers between the hours of 7am-4pm. Please fill out an application fully and submit to use your talents to join a team of your neighbors dedicated to saving lives and property in Lancaster, PA!

Application Process

Background checks and PA Child Abuse Clearance required. Children may apply to be Junior Firefighters starting at age 14. Applications can be found at lafayettefire.com by clicking on the membership application tab/drop down menu.
