We are in the process of building our Forever Home and need your help in this upcoming year!
We have outgrown our current leased location, performed our due diligence and determined that owning our building is the most cost-effective method in helping more local charities, provide further assistance to a higher number of people, and the best way to give even more support to the community. We have secured the property and are hoping to start construction soon.
Currently, we provide over $250,000/year* in monetary assistance and over $500,000/year in 'in-kind' donations. By moving into our new building, we double our space and lower operating costs which translates to a savings of $100,000 yearly now and, as we pay off the mortgage, increasing to $400,000 per year. This savings translates to more assistance to people in need!
For every dollar we raise through AmplifyAustin, we will be able to give TWICE that in assistance this year. How great is that!
How do we do this? We take donations from the community and sort, re-sell, re-purpose, re-cycle, and re-direct unwanted items into monetary funding for 25+ charities in the Austin, Lake Travis, San Antonio communities and beyond!
Lake Travis Thrift Shop Store-Front Blueprint

************************
Founded in 1991, the Lake Travis Thrift Shop was originally created under the guidance of Monsignor Richard McCabe to fund the Lake Travis Crisis Ministry and, when possible, to aid others in need through the proceeds of the sale of donated goods. The Shop fulfills this mission by offering “needed items at a low price and other items at a fair price.” Our mission is "to serve rather than be served and to do so with Humility, Simplicity & Charity."
The Ladies of Charity-Lake Travis administer profits from the Thrift Shop and distribute to organizations that share our mission to serve the poor. As a result of the continuing generosity of our donors, shoppers, and volunteers over the past 25 years, LOC-LT has been able to donate nearly $3,000,000 to charities that serve the poor in our community and around the world.
