The goal of Keep on Questioning is to provide everyone the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues of public interest with professionals and experts. Keep on Questioning is a project of the Center for Transformative Action (CTA).
Keep on Questioning delivers programs based on the principle that greater understanding can be achieved through the freedom to ask questions, consider informed answers and express viewpoints.
Keep on Questioning carries out science communication, education and public engagement projects in exciting and innovative formats. By providing opportunities for young people and the general public to engage in dialogue with professionals and experts, we overcome barriers to education and knowledge, such as geography, economics, gender and social group.
Our flagship program is I’m a Scientist USA (www.imascientist.us); an online event where school students meet and interact with scientists. It’s an American Idol-style competition between scientists, where the students are the judges. Students engage with scientists over fast-paced online text-based live chats where the students choose the questions and direct the conversations, submitting questions to the scientists on any topic that interests them and voting for their favorite scientist to win. Scientists from around the world can engage directly with students across North America, answering questions about science, their research, the universe and beyond. Participation improves scientists’ communications skills, increases their awareness of the interests of young people and enables them to share information about their work.
Keep on Questioning also organizes I’m a Scientist USA live events, and provides training to scientists in effective communication skills, while producing teaching materials to support science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education.
Keep on Questioning is a project of the Center for Transformative Action (CTA). The Center for Transformative Action is an independent 501(c)3 educational non-profit organization affiliated with Cornell University.
