Justice Strategies is dedicated to providing high quality, non-partisan research, data analysis, technical assistance and practical solutions that advances the work of those pursuing humane and effective reform of the laws, policies and practices driving mass incarceration and racial disparity in the criminal justice and immigration enforcement and detention systems of the US.
Our well-established record of high quality research informs and supports grassroots organizations, advocates and policy makers seeking system reforms. We define our core constituency as the organizations and coalitions that represent communities most directly affected by mass incarceration, as well as the children, families, care givers and neighborhoods suffering from the collateral consequences of misguided public safety strategies.
Justice Strategies works to support those whose individual and collective realities exist within the context of the legally sanctioned policies and practices that belie our most sacred principles of equity and justice. The range and scope of our publications, found at http://www.justicestrategies.org/, stand as testimony to our commitment to these principles. We focus on the intersection of the forces that act, on many levels, to systematically criminalize the politically and economically disadvantaged. We strive to educate the general public, reform advocates and policymakers about the negative consequences harsh law enforcement and punitive sentencing policies and practices have on minority, immigrant, and poor communities.
