About Us

The mission of the Jonestown Family Center is to improve the general welfare of people in Jonestown and the surrounding area. We strive to increase educational and wellness opportunities for all in Jonestown and the surrounding area.

Description:
Programs of the Family Center include: full-day Montessori pre-school, 1/2 day toddler play-group, after-school program for grades one-four, summer enrichment sports program for children ages 3-17, and a Fitness and Health Club with wellness classes for adults.

History:
The Family Center started in 1993 with one mother volunteer and two Sisters. We were sponsored by the Holy names sisters from Spokane, Washington and received grants and donations to carry on our programs. We became an AmeriCorps site from 1994-1998. Our Montessori program started in 1998 and we built the Montessori building in 2002. We have grown to have nine staff members, a Board of Directors, and responsibility for about 50 students.
