A fundraising campaign for Ithaca Shakespeare Company Inc

To celebrate her 50th birthday in a meaningful way, Margaret Shackell has chosen to raise $50,000 for a variety of charities! Funds raised in this campaign will go to benefit the Ithaca Shakespeare Company.

Margaret says:

"I chose Ithaca Shakespeare Company as one of my focus organizations, because I believe in the power of theatre to educate, and they have entertained me greatly over the years.”

The initial funds raised for Ithaca Shakespeare through this campaign have already helped to support ISC's 2017 summer productions of "Richard III" and "Much Ado About Nothing" on the shores of Cayuga Lake.

Funds raised in the later stages of the campaign will do the same for ISC's 2018 summer productions. For the first time ever, the plays for this summer will be chosen by a vote from our audiences. The 5 plays in consideration are:

The Taming Of The Shrew
Shakespeare’s greatest battle of the sexes like you’ve never seen it before! ISC’s production aims to turn the traditional approach on its head by incorporating material from the little-known sequel written by Shakespeare’s successor, “The Tamer Tamed.”
Romeo And Juliet
The most famous love story of all time is also a compelling coming-of-age story. From the opening battle between warring families to the tragic conclusion, get swept away in this tale of overwhelming emotion, dazzling swordfights, and poetic passion.
As You Like It
One of Shakespeare’s most beloved romantic comedies, featuring one of his strongest and most resourceful heroines, an epic wrestling match, a love quadrangle, music and dance, and perhaps the second-most famous speech in all of Shakespeare!
Julius Caesar
An epic tale of betrayal, murder, and revolution, as ancient Rome transitions from Republic to Empire and one man’s decision changes the course of history.
The Merry Wives of Windsor
Legend has it that Queen Elizabeth enjoyed the character of Falstaff so much that she asked Shakespeare to write a new play showing “Sir John in love.” Hilarity ensues when the lovable rogue tries to seduce several married women, and nothing goes quite according to plan.
