We now offer our members the opportunity to get paid for teaching classes with our written curricula. Some members are also interested in teaching their own classes or holding events at IG. We are looking for one person who can support our educators by giving them the information necessary to design and schedule an event, promote on Facebook and via other channels, post to our online calendar, and where to find the resources they need online. This volunteer opportunity could be done up to 100% remotely.
The volunteer in this role would be given links to the curriculum for each class, post-class survey, and how to submit classes for publication in the newsletter. They would send an email to potential educators and answer basic questions about how to schedule, promote, and conduct an IG-branded class. They would also collect feedback and relay it to the edu coordinator or committee.
A good fit for this opportunity would enjoy finding and organizing information from multiple sources within IG, including google docs, email annoucements, blog posts, our wiki, discuss forum, and google group. They would be comfortable reaching out to other members and board members when needed to get more information and solve problems. The support person might choose to teach a class or hold an event now and then, but probably shouldn't have another key role in education or training at IG - unless they have a lot of extra time on their hands and some serious stamina!
As a support person, the volunteer is not responsible for actively scheduling or posting events, or for publicizing them. They are there to make sure that folks who want to hold classes can find the information they need to do so.
