Tough Turtle 2017 5th Anniversary Celebration!

The Tough Turtle is a 5-10K adventure obstacle race in Ithaca, NY, designed to push your body, challenge your wit, and deliver the mud.

A fundraising campaign for Ithaca Children's Garden

ITHACA’S FIRST OBSTACLE COURSE RACE

In 2016, over $41,000 were raised through sponsorship, race entry fees, and FundRACING Champions! This year Tough Turtle celebrates the fifth anniversary, ready to attract even more participants and spectators with new and wild obstacles, a 10k option, and a finish line festival complete with party games, live entertainment, food and beer provided by CTB/Collegetown Bagels and Ithaca Beer, and a raffle where we will honor or most competitive FundRACING Champions!

COMMUNITY BENEFIT

Tough Turtle is the single biggest annual benefit for Ithaca Children’s Garden, and provides critical funding for operations. Every single dollar raised through Tough Turtle registration and FundRACING goes directly to support Ithaca Children’s Garden’s mission of cultivating environmental stewardship and well being by getting kids outside, having fun, and making meaningful connections with the natural world. One of our past FundRACER notes,

"Ithaca Children's Garden is a three acre public kids garden with a wide range of educational programs for kids & families. Scholarships are provided for those unable to participate without. It provides a hands-on experience with nature & allows kids to just have fun. In elementary school, I participated in an urban after school program that allowed me to plant seeds & tend the garden. I had a lot of fun & learned about the intricacies of growing crops. In supporting ICG, I hope to give kids the same opportunity I had."

Thanks to our generous sponsors, every dollar raised through Tough Turtle registration and FundRACING goes directly to support ICG’s mission of inspiring environmental stewardship. In fact, critical funds raised during Tough Turtle support direct programming that reaches 8,200 children and families annually, and keeps the Garden free and open to the 69,000 visitors each year!
