About International House of Rhode Island

At International House, you are welcome as you are!! Your language, accent, food, culture, and talents are all celebrated here.
International House was founded right here in Providence, RI in 1963 by a family: Bili, Gil, Gabrielle, and Darielle Mason. In these times of great stress and uncertainty for our international community, our mission is to promote friendship, connection, mutual support, learning, creativity, and global understanding by bringing people together from around the world for cross-cultural exchange. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves over 1,000 people from 70+ countries in a typical year, we live our mission by offering a small residential community for international visitors and hosting a plethora of language classes for the Rhode Island community-at-large in our historic building. We are also a unique community center for cross-cultural programs like international dinners, music concerts, film screenings, book talks, dance lessons, and so much more! Most importantly, we are a home for international visitors who are looking for a place to thrive and grow in a new community.
