About Friendly Visitor

A friendly visitor is a volunteer that comes in on a weekly basis to visit one-on-one with a resident that could benefit from this social interaction. A friendly visitor needs to be dependable and dedicated to coming in regularly to see their assigned resident(s). Some friendly visitors have one resident and some have up to 4 or 5 to visit. We work with what the volunteer is comfortable with and what their time commitment/availability is.

Application Process

First, there is an application that must be filled out along with consent for a background check. Then two references are checked. After that is done, you are contacted for an interview/orientation to find out if the fit is right and what would be appropriate for the volunteer to do here at Dobie Road.

Family-Friendly

Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
