The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is the National patient organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis, treatment and the quality of life of persons with primary immunodeficiency diseases through advocacy, education and research.
IDF worked for several years to get SCID (Bubble Boy Disease) testing into hospitals in 50 states to get early diagnosis and appropriate therapies for newborns so they can live healthy, productive lives. Immunodeficiency diseases are not contagious they are caused by hereditary or genetic defects and can affect anyone, regardless of age or gender.
Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
