A fundraising campaign for Hostos Community College

"Building a Bridge to Graduation"

The #HostosGivingTuesday campaign will benefit the Bridge Tuition Support Assistance (BTSA) program. This fund is earmarked to help those who are no longer eligible for financial aid stay in college, particularly those who are near or close to completion.

Read how life challenges impact a student’s path to graduation and see how BTSA truly makes a difference:

“I lost my job, and risked eviction from my house because the management of the building were saying that we were too many in the house. I was living the whole fall semester on my credit card and borrowing money from friends to pay for rent”. I had a tuition balance I could not afford. BTSA was approved and covered my balance, I graduated and I am now attending City College majoring in Environmental Engineering and hoping to graduate in 2018.” - Kodjo Agbodji ‘14

“I have made many sacrifices to be able to focus on education. As a part-time student, I have been working towards an Associate in Science degree in Community Health at Hostos Community College.  At this point, I have been working full-time and using my income to pay for my college education, which has been very expensive, but certainly worthwhile. However, the Community Health Program at Hostos is a day program and to finish my last semester, I could not keep my job any longer. I decided to quit my job to complete my goal of my professional journey. My plan is to transfer to Lehman College to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. BTSA helped me graduate in the Fall of 2015 and I am now attending Lehman College pursing my Bachelor’s Degree.” - Francisco Contreras ‘15
