About The Final Salute

Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Volunteer Services is continuing their four-year partnership with USNA midshipmen by recognizing veteran patients and thanking them for their service. Over 150 midshipmen have committed to this year’s “Final Salute” initiative.

Two to three midshipmen, accompanied by a Hospice volunteer, pay visits to veteran patients saluting and presenting them with a certificate of appreciation. These ceremonies are often the last time these veterans will be publicly recognized.

Hospice of the Chesapeake is looking for active duty military representatives to attend these tributes and salute our veteran patients, particularly in Prince George’s County.
