About Volunteer Docents Needed at the Capt David Crawford House

Do you have a passion for history, architecture, decorative arts, or museums in general? Consider giving some time to guide visitors through the Captain David Crawford House in Newburgh. The mansion’s furnishings and collections help to interpret over 150 years of life in the Newburgh Bay area. Seasonal exhibits showcase local artists and historic events.
The Crawford House, headquarters of the Historical Society of Newburgh Bay and the Highlands at the corner of Montgomery and Clinton Streets in the Newburgh historic district is open Sundays from 1-4 p.m. April through December and occasionally other times for special events. A staff or board member will always be present with you. You will be trained and given interesting fact sheets to help you prepare.
The society also seeks gift shop volunteers and welcome table hosts for our programs held at other locations such as our walking tours.
Please share your interest with our office at 845-561-2585 or e-mail us at info@newburghhistoricalsociety.org
