About Friendly Visitor Volunteer

Heartland Hospice is in need of volunteers in the Battle Creek area. We have many patients in need of someone to come and visit with them. Volunteers play a vital role in our organization and in enriching our patients at their end-of -life time. Heartland Hospice trains volunteers to spend time with hospice patients either in their home or at a facility setting. Most time is spent listening to past memories, holding a hand, or offering a smile of encouragement. Volunteers are rewarded with the kind of gratification that comes from helping others.

Application Process

Field volunteers are required to be 18 years of age, background check, fingerprinting, 2-step TB or chest x-ray from last 10 years, paper work, all of which are paid for by Heartland.
