The Power of ONEsie

Ending Preventable Infant Death

A fundraising campaign for Healthy Baby Network

Did you know?

  • In Monroe County, African American babies are nearly 4 times as likely to die before their first birthday as white babies.
  • In 2013, 55 babies died in Monroe County before their first birthday.
  • Prematurity is the single highest cause of infant mortality, accounting for 39% of all
    infant deaths.
  • Prematurity can be greatly reduced through education and early entry into prenatal care.

At the Healthy Baby Network it is our mission to get every baby to their first birthday.

Every year we stand in solidarity with mothers by stringing decorated onesies on clotheslines in memory of every baby who didn’t live to wear one.

Ending infant mortality takes all of us - so we invite our whole community, individuals and agencies, to participate by decorating onesies and spreading the word. We provide all the materials and will even send a health educator to talk to your group about how to reduce infant mortality.

Join us in putting an end to infant mortality.
