Habitat for Humanity of Broward offers families a "hand up" not a "hand out." Families who are unable to qualify for conventional financing and are willing to work hard to improve their lives and the lives of their children are selected into our program based on: need; willingness to partner by contributing 500 hours of sweat equity and attending homebuyer education workshops; ability to re-pay a no-profit, zero-interest mortgage on a monthly basis. We rely heavily on volunteers to build our homes. Establised in 1983, we have completed more than 285 homes in Broward County.
