10th Anniversary Katrina Reunion Build

BegInning in June of this year, Habitat Bay-Waveland is holding a 10th Anniversary Reunion Build in Bay St. Louis to commemorate the relationships formed with so many that came to help after Hurricane Katrina.  Our mission to provide affordable and sustainable housing has been made possible by our partnership with donors, volunteers, sponsors, families and friends. We’re excited for the chance to reconnect with many of the volunteers who came when we needed them and then kept returning to help us rebuild and recover as a community.

The house at 671 Seal Boulevard is well on it's way. We hope to have it completed for our new partner family, a single mom with two sons, by August 29th, the anniversary of Katrina.  We welcome volunteers to work with us in the coming weeks. How to help us

We know that many of you won’t be able to come and pick up a hammer  but you can still participate!   Be a part of this exciting build and this life-changing opportunity for a partner family by helping us raise the necessary $75,000.00 for the construction of our 202nd home.

Falmouth High School volunteers present Executive Director Wendy McDonald with a $4,000.00 gift for our Reunion Build. Students collected donations from family, friends, and businesses.  The high school in Falmouth, Maine has an annual trip to build with us and has involved their town in supporting clean-up efforts since Katrina. When each group of students return home after their week of working with us, they continue to engage the community through opportunities such as speaking engagements, sharing  their experiences, and have fostered relationships that continue for the next group of Juniors and Seniors.
