About The Guild House. Where it's all about the children & families in Kern County.

"What good shall I do this day?" --Benjamin Franklin

Founded in 1958, The Child Guidance Guild is a group of community volunteers dedicated to raising funds in support of mental health services for children & families in Kern County. The Guild has conducted many activities over the years with all proceeds & gratuities from the operation of the Guild House Restaurant going to support the Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic.

We invite you to join us in our mission and become a volunteer of the Guild House of Bakersfield. Most volunteers work just 2-3 days per month. And, since The House is closed for the summer volunteers only work from Labor Day to mid-June. With flexible schedules and a variety of opportunities available, it’s easy to do good.

We are always looking for cooks, dishwashers, bakers, wait staff & hostesses. No experience? We will happily train you. But our needs aren’t limited to restaurant work. There is a lot more to running The Guild House than meets the eye. What skills or talents would you like to contribute? Let’s talk.

Please call Glynda at 661/525-2290 to learn all about the benefits of being a Guild House Volunteer and how you can help The Child Guidance Guild work for kids & families in Kern County.
