About 2017 PROJECT CLASS Mentors
Do you want to help prevent third graders from falling behind in school?
Project CLASS (Community Leaders Assisting School with Success) is a community support program developed at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership to encourage direct support of our educators and our public education system by local churches and businesses. The project is designed to build sustainable partnership between neighborhood churches, local businesses, civic organizations, volunteer groups, and public schools by educating and equipping community volunteers to deliver direct support of students, teachers, and principals in Starkville and Oktibbeha County.
What: One hour per week of one-on-one instruction
Why: To make a difference in the life of a 3rd grader that needs the extra attention
When: throughout the school year
Where: third grade classrooms in Oktibbeha County
How: Contact the Greater Starkville Development Partnership (662) 332-3322 or [email protected]
(To be able to go into the classroom, you will need to attend a 30 minute orientation class, pay $36 cash for a background check, and have an identification tag made. This will be done at the Greensboro Center on October 25th at 2:00 PM arranged by GSDP and the Starkville School District.)
*Another orientation can be planned.
