About Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program Assistant
The Lansing Roots Program is a family farmer education initiative with a farm in Mason. Our marketing collaborative serves a number of small local produce growers with a CSA that allows subscribers to purchase a weekly share of the harvest. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program Assistants will work with the Lansing Roots Marketing Coordinator and staff on CSA operations including marketing, communications, and logistics. Duties are varied and may include but are not limited to: general farm production and development, assisting the Demonstration Farm and Lansing Roots farmers with vegetable production and harvesting, assisting with CSA & Wholesale deliveries, distributions, and logistics.
Qualifications: Reliable transportation to and from farm site in Mason, MI. Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions. Interest and ability in marketing and sales. Knowledge of farming or gardening helpful. Ability to work with a diverse range of people of various social, cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds while maintaining a positive attitude. Interest in community-embedded development work.
Transportation/Location information: Our farm is located just north of Mason at 1084 S. Hagadorn Rd, Mason, MI 48854. A vehicle is encouraged for transportation to the location. Some duties will take place at the farm’s office which is located at 919 Filley St, Lansing, MI 48906
