About Home Hospice Volunteer

Great Lakes Caring Hospice volunteers are compassionate individuals who dedicate their time to enhance the lives of our hospice patients.

Types of Volunteer Services available:
*Offer companionship by listening, reading or just holding a hand.
*Work on a craft or share your talents or interests-scrapbooking, music, card games
*Stay with patient while family members take a break or keep an appointment
*Help with vigil or bereavement support
*Administrative support for local Great Lakes Caring office
*Assist with program activities
*Assist Volunteer Coordinator with duties such as: recruitment efforts, education & community outreach

Generally, volunteers dedicate 2-4 hours a week to visit patients or provide other support. However, schedules and commitment times vary by each volunteer's availability.
